This five-day painting course is open to all skill levels from novice to master level. We will be studying the physical properties of paint, as well as the concepts involved in painting today. We will study various methods of paint handling and explore the properties of several mediums. This course will also focus on color theory and the construction of spatial relationships on a two-dimensional surface. We will take full advantage of the fact that this
course is taking place in the mountains of New Mexico and will study the flora and fauna of the area as well as the rich history of art that has been produced in Taos and Santa Fe. Supply list provided.
For an additional $700, you may choose to add a room-and-board package on the SMU-in-Taos campus:

Conversely, you may make your own lodging arrangements. Registration fee does not include travel to/from New Mexico. These arrangements are the responsibility of each student.
